From tomorrow, Monday 23 March at 8 a.m., a hotline for the over-65s and vulnerable people will be operational. These people can call 024 423 68 00 to order basic necessities (food), which will be delivered to their homes.
At the request of the Municipality, the services of the City of Yverdon-les-Bains have set up a support structure for people over 65 years of age or vulnerable people confined to their homes. The "Ville d'Yverdon solidaire" scheme is run by administrative staff who have been made redundant by the pandemic. It aims to ensure the delivery of basic necessities (food) within 24 hours in principle.
The telephone line 024 423 68 00 answers from Monday to Friday from 8 am to 12 am (until 5 pm on 23 March, the day of the start of the operation). Operators will take note of the needs. Teams of delivery staff, made up of local authority employees, are in charge of shopping and bringing the requested products to the home between 8.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m. In compliance with current health standards, there is no contact between the people who have requested this assistance and those who deliver it. The invoice is placed in the delivery bag, after being scanned.
The reimbursement of purchases will be the subject, in a second phase, of a re-invoicing by the City to the beneficiaries.
The "Ville d'Yverdon solidaire" is reserved for the inhabitants of the municipality. This system is likely to evolve according to the needs and partners.
