Yverdon-Energies took advantage of the Equiwatt - High Performance Lighting programme for professionals to renovate the lighting in its administrative building at Ancien-Stand 2. A free audit was carried out by a service provider from the network of partners who planned, costed and monitored the work. The ageing compact fluorescent luminaires were replaced by LEDs, which also made it possible to make significant energy savings at the same time. The detection and daylighting system was also replaced. This reduced electricity consumption by a factor of almost four and doubled the service life of the luminaires, which also meant a reduction in maintenance costs. In addition, program beneficiaries receive a bonus proportional to the savings achieved during the first year. Thanks to an informed choice of luminaire, simple and quick one-to-one replacement was possible. The new luminaire retains a reflector system that ensures very low glare (UGR=19). All users are satisfied with the result, improving their comfort and safety while having a short return on investment.
