Energie Naturelle Mollendruz SA (ENM SA) submits its preliminary study file to the canton after 4 years of investigations. Its wind power project should be put to the public enquiry this autumn.
Following the capital increase voted in January 2014, ENM SA continues the progress of its wind power project, with the support of the municipalities of the foot of the Jura and the cities of Yverdon-les-Bains and Zurich. The project management remains confident in the outcome of the project in view of the results of the studies that have just been submitted to the Service du développement territorial (SDT).
Extensive analyses, adapted to the repositioning of 5 masts, made it possible to verify the project's impact on the landscape, natural environments, migratory and nesting birds, bats and co-visibility (impact of multiple wind farms). The ecological compensation measures ensure that the project complies with the acceptance criteria defined by the canton. In the wake of the other wind farms in the pipeline, ENM SA benefits from the broad support of the municipalities directly concerned by the future wind farm, a project included in the list of sites selected last June by the Vaud State Council (Cantonal Master Plan 2 bis, 15 June 2013) and adopted by the Grand Council on 25 March 2014.
Energie Naturelle Mollendruz SA warmly thanks the populations of the foothills of the Jura, Yverdon-les-Bains and the city of Zurich who, through the vote of their elected representatives, allow the continuation of a local renewable energy production project.
Founded in 2009 by the municipalities of Juriens, La Praz, Mont-La-Ville, Vaulion, Yverdon-les-Bains and Zurich (represented by its electricity service, ewz), Energie Naturelle Mollendruz SA has its head office in La Praz (VD). The project is intended to cover the electricity needs of 18,000 households.
