Yverdon-les-Bains Énergies is a member of the Groupement Romand pour l'énergie éolienne (GREE).
The GREE brings together electricity companies and distributors that are developing the production of renewable energies, in accordance with the mandate received from the public authorities through the Energy Strategy 2050.
According to the Canton's objective, by 2035, 100% of the energy consumed by the Vaud people will be covered by renewable energies.
The mission of GREE members and partners is to provide security of electricity supply, guarantee reliable distribution, ensure the economic viability of projects and actively promote energy efficiency, in particular by managing sustainable electricity production by developing renewable energies.
More specifically, the GREE works for the security of local energy supply and the diversification of energy sources produced in Switzerland, in particular thanks to wind energy, which is renewable, indigenous, non-polluting and complementary to other renewable energies.
"In 2016 : 34 wind turbines are equivalent to the consumption of 30,000 households, or the equivalent of 200 football pitches of photovoltaic panels. »
Wind power generation will reduceCO2
Today, the electricity consumed in Switzerland (including imports) produces 129 g ofCO2 per kilowatt hour. Thanks to hydroelectric and photovoltaic production, Swiss electricity produces 33 g ofCO2 per kilowatt hour.
The Vaud wind farm will save 60,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions per year, the equivalent of the emissions of 4,000 vehicles per year!
