FIBRE OPTICS, THE OPTIMAL CONNECTION FOR YOUR NEEDS

Fibre optic connection is today the best and most reliable solution for various multimedia services such as Internet, Television and Telephony. The quality and speed of data transmission are optimal and allow multiple use at home or in the office. For each user, it is the guarantee of an ideal connection for using the Internet, making calls or enjoying new ways of watching television.

An optical fibre is a thin glass thread that allows light to be guided over long distances. The different streams (audio, video or computer) are digitally encoded and then converted into light signals that are sent at very high speed through an optical fibre to a decoder, which will recompose the information identical to the original one.

This technology ensures top-notch speed and reliability when sharing photos, videos, downloads or other types of content. It also allows simultaneous use of different digital tools (television, telephone and very high-speed Internet) without loss of quality.

FIBER OPTICS ALL OVER THE CITY!

The City of Yverdon-les-Bains has decided to accelerate the development of its municipal fibre optic network in order to meet the needs of the population and businesses.

As part of a partnership with a major Swiss telecommunications operator, Yverdon-les-Bains Energies will connect all the buildings in Yverdon-les-Bains to the municipal fibre optic network by 2020. In concrete terms, each building or house in the municipality will receive optical fibre to the home, an extension known as Fibre To The Home (FTTH). To this end, in May 2015, the local council accepted an investment credit of more than 15 million francs to carry out the work, representing 40% of the total investment, with the balance to be covered by the City's partner in the project.
