Energy Planning - Projects

In April 2016, a first major project in line with the master plan was inaugurated: the "Lotus" district heating system. This is the first concrete step towards the energy planning of the City of Yverdon-les-Bains. This project enabled the production of 6'400'000 kWh of heat, i.e. the annual consumption of more than 300 villas (villas category 20'000 kWh/year) and generated a first positive financial result, in line with the objective. In addition, the energy efficiency of the system is excellent with an average efficiency of more than 94% and a 22% reduction in annual CO2 emissions, i.e. almost 400 tons.

Other major projects are currently being studied, such as, for example, the project for district heating with heat recovery from the WWTP's waste water. By recovering heat that would otherwise be lost, it would make it possible to supply heat to the buildings interested in the urban development project which concerns the area between the SBB station and the lake (Gare-Lac project).
