FAQ electricity

Where are the municipal solar power plants that produce the photovoltaic energy that makes upesun andemix products?

The Commune owns 12 facilities, most of which are located on its own buildings .3 new plants are currently under construction. The Commune owns 6 installations, the majority of which are located on its own buildings. 5 new power stations are under construction.

In addition to the municipal power stations, approximately 230 power plants privately owned, also produce electricity which is injected into the Yverdon grid. The Commune buys back the electricity for a large part of them.

The ten largest installations alone account for half of Yverdon's solar energy production, which is expected to reach 6,000,000 kWh by 2019.

Where does non-renewable electricity come from?

This is essentially electricity generated in nuclear power plants.

Can I choose more than one product for my power supply?

No, a meter or measuring point can only be linked with one product at a time.

How is the origin of the energy used in Yverdon-les-Bains Energies products declared?

The energy that makes up our electricity supply is declared in the product mix in accordance with the Energy Ordinance (EOne). In the event of demand for electricity products that exceeds the availability on the market, Yverdon-les-Bains Énergies will endeavour to replace the missing energy with equivalent or lower quality electricity. The selling price will be adjusted accordingly.

How are the different energies channeled to my home?

Since our network is supplied by several sources, all the energy is found in the same pipes. The laws of physics do not allow us to sort the electrons or molecules of the energies to deliver them to each customer according to their choice. As a result, Yverdon-les-Bains Energies is committed to supplying itself in accordance with customer demand and in line with their choice of energy.

In order to ensure conformity of supply and sale according to the choices of our customers, we publish the energy marking once a year. This document certifies that the supply is in conformity with the subscription of the products by our customers. That is, that the equivalent of each customer's consumption is injected into the network according to their energy choice.
