The participatory solar power plant project consists of offering the inhabitants the opportunity to invest in a photovoltaic power plant, the production of which will be bought at cost price by Yverdon-les-Bains Energies and then by Swissgrid.
This approach was born out of a desire to enable everyone to invest in the local production of renewable energy. It is primarily intended for people who do not have the possibility of installing photovoltaic panels on the roof of their home: tenants, owners of historic houses in the city centre or owners of condominiums. But it is also interesting for homeowners who do not want to have the worries of a solar installation on their property.
Le concept est simple. La centrale se compose de plusieurs parts de CHF 500.00. Les investisseurs acquièrent autant de parts qu’ils le souhaitent et se verront attribuer une production électrique au prorata de leur part dans la centrale. La propriété de la centrale reste à Yverdon-les-Bains Energies qui en assure l’exploitation et le bon fonctionnement.
L’énergie produite est rachetée par Yverdon-les-Bains Energies à prix coûtant jusqu’à la reprise du courant par Swissgrid. Concrètement, les investisseurs se contentent de souscrire un nombre de parts et de recevoir chaque année le montant de la vente de l’énergie qu’ils ont contribué à produire. Les projections financières basées sur des scénarios d’ensoleillement standard suggèrent un retour sur investissement de 2,7%.
The power station is located on the roof of Aurubis Switzerland AG with photovoltaic panels from Schott AG, two companies located in Y-Parc that are participating in the project. With an output of 86.4 kW, its average annual production is estimated at 90,000 kWh. The fully recyclable photovoltaic panels are manufactured in Germany and assembled in the Czech Republic, which ensures a favourable grey energy balance.
Ce concept s’inscrit dans la stratégie énergétique globale de la Municipalité qui consiste à promouvoir la production décentralisée d’énergie renouvelable sur le territoire de la Commune d’Yverdon-les-Bains. La période de souscription est arrivée à terme le 31 décembre 2011.
L’installation est en service et les premiers kilowattheures ont été injectés dans le réseau le 31 mai 2012.
