The City of Yverdon-les-Bains has signed two marketing agreements for its future fibre optic network
Last May, the City Council accepted a loan of 15 million francs to equip the city with fibre optics. To ensure the marketing of this new network, the City of Yverdon-les-Bains has just signed two partnerships. The first with VOénergies, in charge of marketing the multimedia offering, and the second with Swiss Fibre Net AG, the network builder.
A multimedia offer via VOénergies, a local partner
Since 26 November, the first households in Yverdon have been benefiting from the multimedia offer marketed by VOénergies. They are located in the districts of Calamin, Floreyres, Bellevue, Roseyres, Valentin and Les Bains. In these areas, the infrastructure is indeed ready to deploy the VOénergies offer. Citizens wishing to access this novelty can control the connection to their homes via the website: www.yverdon.ch/ftth.
Thanks to VOénergies, a historical partner for the City, the inhabitants of Yverdon-les-Bains and the companies located on the municipal territory will benefit from a wide regional experience. Indeed, VOénergies markets multimedia services on the territory of 31 municipalities in the Orbe and Vallorbe region. In addition, it already provides a high-speed Internet connection offer to professionals in the Yverdon area, under the name "Fibre Idéale".
Agreement with Swiss Fibre Net AG puts Yverdon-les-Bains at the centre of a national network
In order to build a quality fibre optic infrastructure, the City of Yverdon-les-Bains has chosen to work with Swiss Fibre Net AG (SFN AG), a company active throughout Switzerland. Yverdon-les-Bains thus joins a network of 30 Swiss cities with 800,000 homes connected to fibre optic cable, giving Yverdon residents access to a range of competitive commercial offers.
Swiss Fibre Net AG unites the local fibre optic networks of its shareholders and partners. This network makes it possible to offer broadband transport services for telecom operators (fixed and mobile) operating at national level. Swiss Fibre Net AG is one of the largest broadband providers in Switzerland. This cooperation guarantees unified access to SFN-connected fibre optic networks from the provider's supply point to the end customer's socket.
