A district heating network (DHN) allows energy to be distributed centrally. It can be supplied by a waste incineration plant, a WWTP, a large wood-fired boiler or a combined heat and power plant fuelled by natural gas or wood. In addition to limiting pollutant and CO2 emissions, DAC offers long-term efficiency gains. It is particularly suitable for areas with a high building density.
In order to further encourage the energy improvement of Yverdon's building stock, the Commune, through equiwatt, allocates a subsidy in addition to the cantonal subsidy M-07 for the connection to a heating network supplied mainly by renewable energy or waste heat. The connection must replace a main oil or natural gas heating system or a fixed electric resistance heater.
