From 1 January 2016, Yverdon households and companies operating in the municipal area will pay less for their electricity. This tariff reduction is mainly due to lower costs on the European electricity supply markets.
The Energy Service (SEY) published at the end of August the electricity tariffs that will come into force from1 January 2016. Residents of the city and companies based in Yverdon-les-Bains will spend less on electricity than in 2015. This means that a typical household will see its annual bill fall by around 6%, or CHF 60.
Details of prices and the various 2016 tariffs are available on the municipality's website at: www.yverdon.ch/tarifs-electricite.
Overall, the rates charged in Yverdon-les-Bains are in line with the Swiss average; and lower than the Vaud average, both for households and companies.
At the same time, the SEY reinforces the strategy of sustainable development by certifying electricity from hydropower and photovoltaics with guarantees of origin.
