Yverdon-les-Bains is continuing its efforts to raise awareness of energy savings. On the advice of its Energy Advisory Commission, the City supports the "Futé" courses, set up at the initiative of SuisseEnergie and the cantonal energy services. These modules, offered by Perform as part of its continuing education and professional development activities, will take place from this autumn in the Cité thermale.
The half-day "Futé" courses, which are held throughout French-speaking Switzerland, provide financially conscious operators and homeowners with theoretical and practical knowledge on how to save energy. An optimised heating system or the correct use of electrical appliances can save the equivalent of a bathtub of fuel filled to the brim per year. A secret piggy bank that allows you to heat your home for free 1 year out of 6!
These courses are open to everyone: caretakers, owners, heating managers, building managers, maintenance services, municipalities. Owners who own a building on the territory of Yverdon-les-Bains or companies active in the municipality will also benefit from financial support from the City, in the form of a 50% reimbursement of the registration fee for each module attended. The same applies to tenants residing in Yverdon-les-Bains who follow the "smart electricity" module.
Heating and electricity: two key posts
How can I optimise my heating system? How can I reduce my electricity consumption and thus reduce my bill? How can I react correctly to the wishes and complaints of tenants? All these questions are covered in these courses. All the techniques taught in these three courses are immediately applicable and in principle require no investment.
Module 1 of the "Smart Heating" course is designed to teach you how to optimise your heating system, how to avoid losses due to incorrect settings or incorrect use of the system, how to react correctly to the wishes of tenants and users, and how to work effectively with specialists.
Module 2, reserved for those who have completed the first module, enables participants to analyse a boiler room and to deepen their knowledge of technical building installations through exchanges of experience between participants.
As for the "Smart Electricity" course , it aims to understand the various measures that allow you to save electrical energy and to implement them on a daily basis in order to reduce your consumption and your electricity bill. Identifying the different energy-consuming devices, evaluating one's own consumption, analysing the different types of lighting are all issues addressed during this specific module.
The first flight of courses will take place on Wednesday 15 October (electricity) and Thursday 16 October (heating), at the Centre Professionnel du Nord Vaudois. Information and registration on the website www.perform-as.ch. Registration deadline: 6 October 2014.
